MEN ’ S CHAMPIONSHIPS 35th VSGA Senior Stroke Play Championship Winner : Jon Hurst ( 70-32 — 102 ) The story : Punishing rain throughout the morning of the second round at Two Rivers Country Club forced the tournament to be shortened to 27 holes . When play resumed in the late afternoon , Hurst handled the sprint to the finish with aplomb , posting a bogey-free , 4-under 32 on Two Rivers ’ front nine to secure his first individual senior trophy . He finished a shot clear of Buck Brittain , with whom he teamed in May to win the VSGA Senior Four-Ball title .
“ I enjoy the competition , and I look forward to it ,” said Hurst , a member at Fredericksburg Country Club . “ We play to get into the mix , and I love every minute of it . It makes it fun again . I feel like there ’ s a no-man ’ s land there at age 45 . These kids are so good and they hit it so far . So it ’ s good to get back in the mix and have a chance to win .”

Partridge earned his 14th VSGA title , finishing three shots clear of 2020 champion Jack Allara . McDonald . In the 75 + group , Walsh — a Hidden Creek member — used local knowledge to his advantage and finished four shots clear of Donald Meyer . ALSO : The father-son duo of Jack and John Rosenstock shot a 12-under 60 at Spring Creek Golf Club to win the overall title in the 4th VSGA Parent-Child Championship .
