Bolling won her third Super Senior Women ’ s Stroke Play title in four years . She was the only player in the division to shoot both rounds in the 70s and finished four strokes ahead of Fran Hensley .

64th VSGA Senior Women ’ s Amateur Winner : Andrea Miller ( def . Joanne Kitusky , 3 and 1 ) The story : Miller became the first player since Shelley Savage in 2012 and 2013 to win consecutive Senior Women ’ s Amateurs . Miller ’ s length off the tee again proved to be difficult for her competitors to counter , especially in what Miller called her “ power zone ” at The Omni Homestead ’ s Old Course — holes 12-15 , which feature three par 5s and a drivable par 4 . In her four matches , she won eight holes during that stretch and lost none .
“ I knew I had to get to my corner ,” Miller said . “ Once I got to my corner , I started getting some momentum and started building what I needed to get to the end .”
“ It ’ s great ,” Stanford said . “ The successful part of my junior career started with the VSGA ( Junior Stroke Play in 2019 ), so I ’ m very happy to leave it like this . It feels like a full-circle moment right now .” ALSO : Maryland defeated Virginia 8-4 at Stoney Creek at Wintergreen Resort to win the 23rd Virginia-Maryland Junior Girls ’ Team Matches , snapping a four-year losing streak in the series . ... The Carolinas squeaked out a 8.5-7.5 win over the Virginias in the 39th Virginias-Carolinas Junior Boys ’ Matches at Boonsboro CC . … In the 20th Mid-Atlantic Junior Girls ’ Challenge , the Carolinas were victorious , defeating the Virginia / Maryland team 9-3 .
WOMEN ’ S CHAMPIONSHIPS VSGA Women ’ s Stroke Play Championships Winners : Open : Jessica Spicer ( 73-72-72 — 217 ); Senior : Natalie Easterly ( 75-74 — 149 ); Super Senior : Dot Bolling ( 78-77 — 155 ) The story : For the second straight year , a Virginia Tech player claimed the title in the VSGA Women ’ s Stroke Play Championship . Spicer , who lives in North Carolina but recently completed her Hokie career , finished two strokes clear of a trio of runners-up : Tech teammate Alyssa Montgomery , past VSGA Women ’ s Amateur champion Tatum Walsh , and past VSGA Junior Girls ’ champion Danielle Suh .
“ I think ( Tech coach Carol Robertson ) is going to be pretty happy ,” Spicer said . “ I think she loves to see Hokie headcovers out there in the final group .”
In the Senior Women ’ s Stroke Play , Natalie Easterly won her third title and lapped the field at Stoney Creek at Wintergreen , finishing six shots clear of Mary Cabriele . “ I held it together ,” she said . “ I just feel so blessed , I really do . It ’ s not easy . There ’ s just such good competition , so when you get there , it ’ s just an incredible privilege .”

3rd VSGA Super Senior Women ’ s Amateur Winner : Dot Bolling ( def . Fran Hensley , 2 and 1 ) The story : Salem ’ s Bolling keeps racking up titles in the 65-plus age group , taking her sixth super senior title in seven tries . ( She ’ s won three Super Senior Stroke Play titles ). She ’ s the only champion this event has known . Bolling jumped to a 3-up lead after five holes in the title match before Hensley got going , winning holes 10 and 11 to cut the lead to 1 up . Bolling held Hensley off from there and clinched the win by tying the par-4 17th .
