GOLFERS OF THE YEAR

XANDER GOBOY

VSGA JUNIOR BOYS GOLFER OF THE YEAR
Home Club : Greenbrier CC
What was your personal highlight of the year ? Winning the VSGA Junior Stroke Play was my personal highlight of the year . I had been playing good golf all year , and it was exciting to put three solid rounds together and come away with the win .
Golf goals for 2025 : Be an academic All-American ; win a college event ; play in a USGA tournament .
What is a fun fact no one knows about you ? I could almost dunk ( a basketball ) at one point in my life .
What golf ball do you play and how do you mark it ? ProV1x . I draw a black line and red “ X ” on it .
How do you manage your life / golf time balance ? I like to stay consistent with my day-to-day life , which allows me to have a good amount of time to spend with family , friends , practice , and academics . With my school schedule , I have workouts on Monday , Wednesday , and Friday with practice mostly every day . I have plenty of time in the evenings to study and do recovery activities to make sure my body stays healthy .
Must play course you haven ’ t played and / or a “ dream ” destination golf trip ? Pine Valley Golf Club and Augusta National .
