LAUREN GREENLIEF

VSGA WOMEN ’ S GOLFER OF THE YEAR
Home Club : International CC
What was your personal highlight of the year ? Representing the United States in the inaugural Women ’ s Concession Cup Matches at the Landings Golf and Athletic Club in Savannah , Ga . The Cup features six women ’ s mid-amateurs and six seniors from the USA and Europe and consists of four-ball , foursomes and singles matches . The matches were played concurrently with the fifth playing of the Men ’ s Concession Cup , where fellow Virginian Evan Beck was also on the team . It was an amazing experience to go 3-0 in the first year of the matches and participate in an amazing event that will grow the women ’ s mid-am game .
A close second was making a hole-in-one on the 8th hole at Brae Burn during my round of 64 match as part of my run to the semifinals in the U . S . Women ’ s Mid-Amateur .
Golf goals for 2025 : Win another VSGA Championship ; make another run at a USGA Women ’ s Mid-Amateur Championship ; qualify for the U . S . Women ’ s Open ; continue to help advance some key initiatives I have been working on with the VSGA Board as chair of the Golfer Advancement Committee .
What is a fun fact no one knows about you ? My must-have golf course snack for tournaments are Uncrustables PB & Js .
What golf ball do you play and how do you mark it ? Titleist Pro V1X left dash marked with a large black line and a dot below the number on each side of the ball .
How do you manage your life / golf time balance ? My job as a Managing Director and Partner at Boston Consulting Group requires travel almost every week of the year . I get most of my playing and practice time in on Friday evening and the weekends where you can find me at the golf course for most of the day . I try to play as much as I can , so I have a good sense of what I need to work on in my game and focus my practice there since I have limited time .
I also have an amazing team of coaches and trainers that helps me continue to compete at a high level - thank you to Casey Edwards , Blake Thomas , and Roger Hatcher ( plus Brian Maloney for seeing a few key things on the range that helped me at tournaments !) During golf tournaments , I will frequently work before or after the rounds to maximize the number of events that I am able to play in using my vacation days . It can be a lot at times , but I love competing more than ever and am happy that I am able to find the right balance .
Must play course you haven ’ t played and / or a “ dream ” destination golf trip ? I hope I am lucky enough to be able to play Augusta National and Cypress Point someday .
