56th VSGA Four-Ball Championship Winner : Andrew Crowley / Clark Taylor ( 64-63 — 127 , won in playoff ) The story : For the sixth straight year , the Four-Ball produced a pair of first-time VSGA champions . Taylor ’ s 40-foot birdie bomb on the first playoff hole at Hermitage Country Club ’ s Manakin Course propelled Taylor and partner Andrew Crowley to the victory . Both partners played huge roles at the end of the round , with Crowley getting out of the pine straw right of the cart path on 18 to set up a five-foot birdie putt that moved the championship into a playoff with defending champions Nick Taliaferro and Andrew Kennedy . After Taylor ’ s bomb , Taliaferro had a six-foot birdie putt to match , but it lipped out .
“ It ’ s such a strong field , we ’ re just fortunate to be part of the field ,” Taylor said after the win . “ But we felt like when we play well , we can hang with anybody .” Added Crowley : “ We got off to hot starts

The story : A driver change for Brittain and a change in putting style for Hurst paid off as the duo sprinted past the field for a five-shot victory at Boonsboro Country Club . The duo entered the second day one stroke behind leaders Rich Buckner and Ron Clatterbuck but quickly moved up the leaderboard as the leaders failed to build on their first-round 62 . |
