Over the years, technology has become a big part of our existence. Slowly, we started to integrate all sorts of gadgets and gizmos into our lives. They helped us carry out our activities better, but at the same time, they damaged our lifestyles. But what can we do to increase our productivity, and maybe even eradicate all our distractions? Well, as Apple always likes to say,“ There’ s an app for that!”

Three Metamorphic Apps That Will Change Your Lifestyle By Jin Do Lee

Social Media
Have you ever vowed to yourself,“ Today, I’ m going to be productive!” but always ended up wasting hours doing practically nothing? Maybe you sat down in front of your computer, opened up Microsoft Word, and began typing your English essay that was due tomorrow. After writing two sentences, you said,“ Phew! That was a lot of work. Let’ s have a short break!” Before you know it, however, it was three hours past your bedtime, and you were not able to keep your own vow.
Does this sound familiar? If your answer is,“ Yes,” then try using a Google Chrome extension called, StayFocusd( yes, it’ s spelled without an“ e”) or the Firefox extension, LeechBlock. These extensions allow you to restrict or even completely block time-wasting websites such as Facebook or 9GAG. If, for some reason, you must logon to those sites, you can allot a certain amount of time each day for full accessibility. Once your allotted time has been used up, the sites you have blocked will be inaccessible for the rest of the day. This is guaranteed to free up a big chunk of your time, allowing you to be more productive and finish that English paper.
Note-taking
If you consider yourself an avid note-taker, try using Evernote. Evernote is your own digital notebook. This allows you to clip websites, copy images, write notes, and record sound clips whenever you like. Evernote is cloud-based, so all your data will always be synced and up-to-date. If you make a note on your Android phone, then you can come back to it later on your MacBook. Also, Evernote is cross-platform, so this app will work on Windows, Mac OS X, iOS, as well as Android.
Can’ t sleep?
Have you ever had trouble falling asleep? Maybe you were really tired, but some annoying bits of sound prevented your brain from shutting down for the night. If this has ever happened to you, try using White Noise Lite. For both Android and iOS, this app uses the idea of white noise to help users fall asleep easier.
What is white noise, and how does it work? According to HowStuffWorks. com, a certain type of noise is called " white " noise because of the way white light works. White light is all of the different colors( wavelengths) of light combined together. Much in the same way, white noise is a combination of all of the different frequencies of sound. Because that is so, it is often used to“ mask” or“ drown out” other sounds.
Have you ever fallen asleep to the sound of rain? Or maybe you noticed that it was easy to sleep on the airplane because all you hear are the turbines. Rain and the engine sounds are perfect examples of white noise. They are both loud enough to block out other distracting sounds, and yet quiet enough so that they’ re not intrusive to your sleep.
Now that you know how white noise works, you can take that knowledge to your advantage. Try using the above-mentioned app. You’ ll be able to sleep much easier especially if you live in a noisy environment. Finally, after a long day of excellent productivity, you can reward yourself with a peaceful sleep.
