Ben Hubert( Lumberjack)“ Join everything, whether you like it or not” On his second day in MICS, Ben showed up to school realizing that he had forgotten everybody’ s name. However, things that he will not forget about this place are eating Soto Kesambi and playing basketball in the gym. He is excited to learn new things in college, but he is also worried about the financial side of college life. Lastly, Ben guessed that his classmate Michael will be the first person to get married.
Angela Jacks( Beloved of God)“ Remember your Creator in your youth, before you grow old and no longer enjoy living” Playing in the rain with friends in 8 th grade was the most memorable event in Mountainview for Angela. She will miss many things about Salatiga such as the rain, cool temperature, Soto, mountains, her home and the small town life. She is looking forward to having freedom in college. In the near future, she will be in Africa working at her own medical clinic. She is confident that Kenny is going to get married first in her class.
Kyu Ho Lee( Nice Guy)“ Do what you love” Of the twelve years Kyu Ho has attended Mountainview, he finds his Senior trip to Bali the most memorable experience. He will miss eating Soto and going to Starpool with his friends. Although Kyu Ho is sad to leave his mother, he looks forward to learning the things he really wants to learn about in college. In 20 years, Kyu Ho sees himself as a free lance artist and animator for Ghibli Studios in New York City.
Jenny Lee( Firmly Rooted Leader)“ Live in such a way that you will have no regrets.” Jenny Lee will miss the precious times she had spent with classmates and friends in Mountainview. She looks forward to being engaged in academics and activities in Furman University. However, she is worried about staying in a room with another person and living far away from her family. In 20 years, she hopes to work for a non-profit Non-Governmental Organizations helping to assist developing countries. She strongly believes that her classmate Jose Fallas will get married first.
Janice Lim( Reliable Sister)“ A word of encouragement saves a life, but a word of discouragement kills a life – so watch out what you say because you can easily become a murderer.” The most memorable moment in Mountainview for Janice was when the Korean girls sang“ You Were Born to be Loved” at chapel for her last birthday in MICS. She will miss many things in this place such as the Korean community, friends, teachers, motorbike rides, Pak Muji’ s Nasi Goreng, roti bakar, teachers, spontaneous deep talks and coffee shop dates. She looks forward to growing into maturity in college but is concerned about her academic grades. In 20 years, she sees herself to be in Korea raising her kids and teaching.
Paul Jantzi( Kind, Inclusive, Adventurous)“ Chill” Paul enjoyed his time in Mountainview being in the Varsity soccer team. He also has a passion for climbing mountains, and he likes making friends and building connections with people. Paul doesn’ t plan to attend college but he dreams to become a mountain guide in the Himalayas. Paul thinks that his classmate Angela is going to get married first.
