ST. PAUL EYE CLINIC TO OPEN NEW LOCATION IN VADNAIS HEIGHTS IN FALL 2026

A medical provider with a long history of serving the Twin Cities east metro will be opening a brand new, state-of-the-art facility in Vadnais Heights in late 2026. St. Paul Eye Clinic plans a grand opening of its newest location in early October.

St. Paul Eye Clinic’ s new Vadnais Heights location is at the northeast corner of Interstate 35 and Highway E. The address is 1130 City Center Drive, Vadnais Heights, MN 55110.
The Vadnais Heights location replaces St. Paul Eye Clinic’ s Maplewood location on MHealth Fairview’ s St. John’ s Hospital campus.“ We were subleasing from them and their services have grown so they need the space back,” said Scott Kulstad, CEO, St. Paul Eye Clinic.
Upon learning the clinic would need to be relocated, an extensive search was done for existing space to move into.“ When we were looking for alternative space, it became apparent that existing buildings would require a lot of investment to make them work for us,” said Kulstad, who added that once the decision was made to build a new clinic rather than move into an existing, empty building, it quickly became apparent that Vadnais Heights had a lot to offer.
“ Vadnais Heights provided us with the opportunity to put up a brand new, patient-centered, highly efficient building in a community that is easily accessible,” he said.
Crews from Davis, which specializes in healthcare real estate development, acquisitions, brokerage, and property management for health systems and physician groups, and general contractor Timco broke ground on the new 10,000 square foot, single-story clinic in Vadnais Heights in October 2025. After a full year of construction, the first patients will be treated at the new location in early October 2026.
“ The patients will just naturally flow through the building. They’ ll come in, they’ ll go through their testing, and then they will end up in a part of the clinic where the doctor will be able to see them. The sightlines are great. The design supports a team environment,” said Kulstad.
St. Paul Eye Clinic’ s Vadnais Heights location will offer a wide range of services, including routine eye exams and contact lens fittings. Patients will also have access to specialists who treat cataracts, corneal conditions, glaucoma and retina conditions.
Plus, there will be providers who provide diabetic eye care and cosmetic eye procedures, perform LASIK and eyelid surgery, provide pediatric eye care and more. There will also be an onsite, state-of-the-art optical shop where people can pick out their glasses frames and get fitted for glasses.
