Transcript and Assessment High School Transcript - Have your high school send your official transcripts to NWTC: Admissions. If you are currently in high school, send an in-progress copy now, and a final copy after graduation. If you have been homed-schooled, please submit a transcript with course titles and grades. High school equivalents: We also accept HSED and GED transcripts. 5 Military and other college transcripts - You can also submit your Joint Services Transcript, Community College of the Air Force Transcripts, and other completed college transcripts for them to be reviewed for transfer of credit. Please contact your academic advisor if you have questions. Assessment - The College accepts high school or college GPA*, Accuplacer, Compass, TABE Level A, ACT, or Asset scores for program and course placement. To meet the GPA requirement, we will evaluate GPAs at the end of a student’s junior year in high school or for those who have attained at least 15 college credits at one post-secondary institution. Credit for Prior Learning - In addition to transfer of credits that may be awarded for previous college experience, NWTC also awards certain college credits based on years of service. Credit for prior learning will be awarded to Service Members/ Veterans who have successfully completed the following: • College 101 - one year • Oral/Interpersonal Communication - one year • Contemporary American Society - three years • Ethics: Theory & Application - three years VETERANS’ SERVICES & THE VETERANS’ RESOURCE CENTER (VRC) Contact Veterans’ Services to obtain the proper applications and advisement concerning your particular type of educational benefits. Return the completed VA applications to the Veterans’ Resource Center (Green Bay Campus) for processing. REGISTRATION & SERVICE MEMBER PRIORITY REGISTRATION Student Veterans and dependents using federal VA educational benefits will only receive payment for courses that apply to their degree as listed in their curriculum, and in their degree audit. If you have questions concerning program requirements, or registration, please contact either the Veteran’s Advisor or your Academic Advisor. Service Member Priority Registration Eligible Veterans and Service Members have the opportunity to register for their classes first for the upcoming semester! This priority registration allows Student Veterans the opportunity to register 24 hours prior to other students. Specific dates can be found on our website. Please provide a copy of you DD-214 showing honorable discharge to receive priority registration. Note: Eligibility is based on the following requirements established by the State of Wisconsin. “Service Member Priority Regis- tration” as a part of 2013 Assembly Bill 201 states a Veteran or Service Member “means a person who has served or is serving on active duty under honorable conditions in the U.S. armed forces, in forces incorporated as a part of the U.S. armed forces, in the National Guard, or in a reserve component of the U.S. armed forces.” If you have any questions about Service Member Priority Registration please contact the Veteran’s Advisor at 920-498-5744. nwtc.edu/veterans 9
