The book voucher is a manual book advance which helps Student Veterans, who receive Post-9/11 benefits, charge books to their account each semester. A student is allowed $500 per semester up to $1,000 per year. Example. If a student uses the maximum amount of the $500 book voucher for both Fall and Spring semesters, they would not be eligible for a Summer book voucher. What is the max amount of the book voucher per semester? The book voucher allows a maximum charge to your student account of up to $500. If the total cost of the books is more than the book voucher, the student will be responsible to pay out of pocket for the overage at the time of the purchase. When is the cost of the books due? The book voucher is a charge on a student’s account and will be the responsibility of the student to either pay for the balance in full when the semester begins or to set up a payment plan. Books are due as soon as charges are posted to your account. If you are eligible for a book voucher, please stop in to see Student Finance located in the Welcome Center. What is the Deferred Payment Plan and who is eligible for it? The Deferred Payment Plan is designed to help first time VA students who have recently applied for benefits. The payment plan defers their tuition until later on in the semester. It is highly recommended that you keep in touch with the VA Certifying Official in regards to your benefits. 12 nwtc.edu/veterans
