Kits and Cubs Parent Meet-Up
Join Merck Forest ’ s education team for Kits and Cubs , a new preschool / toddler and parent meet-up group , on Wednesday mornings from 10-11:30am . Meet at the Visitor Center for a themed outdoor nature exploration , songs , story time , and take-home craft or project . Warm , water-proof , or water-resistant clothing is strongly recommended . Drop in or register ahead of time by emailing us at learn @ merckforest . org . $ 10 for a parent / child team , $ 5 for each additional child . We hope to see you up on the mountain !
Circle Round Podcast ’ s Rebecca Sheir
Northshire Bookstore is thrilled to present children ’ s book author and host of WBUR ’ s acclaimed Circle Round storytelling podcast Rebecca Sheir on December 10 at 11am . Sheir and composer-musician Eric Shimelonis will visit our Manchester store to celebrate the latest Circle Round book , The Great Ball Game , inspired by a classic folktale originating from the Cherokee , Creek , Ojibway and Menominee people of North America . The award-winning storytelling podcast for modern kids shares some of their most popular folktales in the new Circle Round picture book series . Each interactive book is colorfully illustrated by an artist from where the folktale originates and is accompanied by storytelling prompts and activities . Circle Round , a storytelling podcast for kids , receives 1.2M + unique downloads monthly from people in nearly 200 countries across the world . Andrew Liptak , author of Cosplay : A History , describes how cosplay has evolved from a niche activity of convention-goers in the mid-20th century to wide popularity today .
