SVAC Announces New Executive Director
Southern Vermont Arts Center ( SVAC ) is excited to announce the appointment of Amelia Wiggins as its new Executive Director . Amelia comes to SVAC from the Delaware Art Museum in Wilmington , DE , where she most recently served as the Director of Advancement and External Affairs .
The daughter of New England artists , Amelia was trained as a figure painter before beginning a career in museums , including at the Walters Art Museum , Stark Museum of Art , and Philadelphia Museum of Art . She has worked in successive leadership roles at the Delaware Art Museum since 2015 . At DelArt , she charted a plan for financial sustainability ; significantly increased philanthropic income ; grew audiences ; and led a nationally-recognized collection reinstallation . She holds a master ’ s degree in Leadership in Museum Education from Bank Street College and a bachelor ’ s in Painting from the Maryland Institute College of Art . Amelia shares a passion for gardening and the natural world with her husband , global supply chain leader Jonathan Huntoon , and their two young children .
