Jack ’ s Alley Grand Opening in Waterbury
The community of Waterbury is invited to come together for the grand opening celebration of Jack ’ s Alley on October 19 from 4pm to 5:30pm . This newly revitalized public space , nestled between 21 and 23 Stowe Street , will serve as an attractive venue for events , exhibits , and social gatherings in the heart of Waterbury ’ s historic downtown district .
Thanks to the collaboration of dedicated community members , local businesses , state grants , and civic leaders , Jack ’ s Alley has been transformed from an underused alleyway into a vibrant , welcoming area for all to enjoy . The space features in-ground plantings , comfortable seating , a brick walkway , and integrated art installations that reflect Waterbury ’ s community spirit and commitment to public spaces .
The grand opening will kick off with a musical performance , followed by comments from community leaders , and an exciting unveiling of key features . Attendees will have the chance to see the restored Lee Jeans mural , the new Jack ’ s General Store mural , and the beautifully designed benches and screening features that now adorn the space . Refreshments will be provided , and members of the community will be present to celebrate this new addition to downtown Waterbury .

We are delighted to announce the resumption of the Interfaith forum series “ Come Let Us Reason Together ” which will be held on October 22 at 7pm . This session of our Jewish-Christian conversations will cover Jewish and Christian perspectives on the relationship between religion and politics . There will be a focus on texts from both the Jewish and Christian traditions that represent the wide range of approaches to faith and issues of state and politics . After a brief introduction , participants will have an opportunity to explore and discuss the texts in smaller groups . These Interfaith ventures are aimed both at educating and creating opportunities for connections and dialogue , and are sponsored by First Congregational Church of Manchester , Israel Congregation , and Zion Episcopal Church . Norwich University Launches MPH Program
Norwich University is excited to introduce its new online Master of Public Health ( MPH ) degree program , and to welcome its first class this fall . With its 200-year military heritage , Norwich has developed its MPH program to prepare students to take on leadership roles in addressing today ’ s most pressing public health challenges .
Public health , the science of improving the health of communities and individuals through preventive measures , intersects with the growing areas of artificial intelligence , nursing , national security , climate and environmental issues , and mental health . Norwich ’ s science-based MPH program emphasizes the leadership and human impact required to effectively address these key areas .
The coursework is taught by expert faculty with extensive industry and research experience , covering topics such as disease prevention , emergency management , and improving overall health and safety in communities worldwide . Students will learn to evaluate health research , design and implement public health programs for specific populations and communities , and make an impact within a range of healthcare organizations . The MPH curriculum consists of 12 courses totaling 42 credit hours and can be completed in as few as one and a half years . Prospective students can enroll on a quarterly basis . There are competitive tuition rates , especially for military personnel and first responders and an added focus on the role of military , first responders , and veterans in the public health field . Chester / Andover Free Clothing Drive
It ’ s time for the Annual Free Clothing Drive for the Chester / Andover Community in its 17th year . It will be held October 18 from 10am to 2pm and October 19 from 10am to 1pm at the Chester Baptist Church on Main St . in Chester , VT . Shopping is free for those looking for warm clothing in the upcoming months .
We will take your clean , usable , and practically new clothing- all sizes and genders are welcome , and we will display it for those 2 days of “ free ” shopping . We also will take blankets , quilts , linens , pillows , sweaters , pants , shirts , etc . We will have donation containers set up in the communities of Chester / Andover and hours at the Church for scheduled drops of clothing .
