Join us at the Northshire Bookstore in Manchester Center , VT on August 2 at 6pm for an event featuring award-winning and bestselling author of Feed , M . T . Anderson , as he shares his raucous and slyly funny adult fiction debut , about the quest to steal the mystical bones of a longdead saint .
On August 3 at 11am , join us for a roaring good time at our dinosaur party , featuring activities , story time , and a scavenger hunt – Dino outfits encouraged !
On August 9 at 6pm , author Peter Gregg , who runs a 1,000-tap sugaring operation in the shadow of Rupert Mountain , VT will share The Sugar Rush , the humorous story of two friends with a sweet , golden , syrupy dream , set against the rugged New England wilderness !
And finally , on August 10 at 6pm , acclaimed Vermont author Sarah Stewart Taylor shares the first novel in her new historical series set in rural Vermont in the volatile 1960s . July 29 from 6pm to 7pm : Beledi ’ s American Tribal Style Bellydance Workshop . Dancers learn a “ language ” of cues and movements , and choreograph dances on the spot , interpreting the music in the moment .

August 3 from 11am to 12:30pm : World of Lizards . Join Master Herpetologist Jessica Decoteau from The Reptile Nook to learn about and interact with our reptilian friends from five of the six native lizard continents !
August 10 from 5pm to 7pm : Summer Music Series : The Andris Berry Band . Folk , blues , rock , country , and gospel genres are all represented by the Andris Berry Band . The Manchester Fire Department will be cooking burgers and dogs to sell at the show .
Author to Speak on ‘ Extreme Survival ’
Author Michael Tougias will be giving a slide presentation on his book Extreme Survival : Lessons From Those Who Have Triumphed Against All Odds . The event will be held at the Manchester Community Library ( 138 Cemetery Ave . in Manchester , VT ) on August 1 at 6pm .
Tougias uses slides from some of the survival events to give the audience an edge-of-your-seat experience that also provides useful techniques that we can all use when faced with adversity or aspire to achieve a difficult goal .
The author has interviewed over 100 people who survived against all odds , and researched many historical figures who have achieved the near-impossible . He supplements their stories with a handful of first person accounts from some of the toughest survivors in history . In this book , Tougias shares what he has learned about decision making under pressure and the mindsets and techniques survivors used to channel their energy into proactive decisions that saved their lives .
