Manchester Merriment

The magic of Manchester Merriment will be upon us so soon ! Get ready to make memories and celebrate the season with your favorite annual traditions , including the sparkling Community Holiday Tree Lighting & Festivities on November 30 from 5pm to 6pm , the dazzling Holiday Lighted Tractor Parade on December 7 at 5:30pm , the cozy charm of the Shires Holiday Inn Tours on December 7 and 14 from 11am to 3pm ( reserve tickets in advance ), the festive Menorah Lighting on December 25 at 4:30pm , and , of course , the jolly fun of the Santa Express on December 14 and 15 with trains starting to depart at 10am each day — just to name a few . This holiday season is packed with joyfilled , family-friendly events that are sure to spread cheer to all ages . Holiday Services at Zion Episcopal Church

Please join us at Zion Episcopal Church for the holiday season ! On Christmas Eve ( December 24 ) at Zion Church ( 5167 Main St # 2 in Manchester Center , VT ) we will have a Children ’ s Pageant at 4pm with Holy Eucharist . At 7pm there will be a candlelight service with Holy Eucharist at St . John ’ s Chapel ( 3512 Main St . in Manchester Village ) and at 10pm we will have a candlelight service with Holy Eucharist at Zion Church . On Christmas Day ( December 25 ), there will be one worship service at 10am with Holy Eucharist at Zion Church . We hope to see you there , and we wish you a wonderful holiday season !

Community Chanukah Celebration

The Manchester and surrounding areas are invited to a Community Chanukah Celebration . We will come together for food and song and most importantly , a feeling of joy and community . The event will begin on December 18 at 5:30pm and will take place at Israel Congregation in Manchester featuring candle lighting , some classical Chanukah tunes , as well as joyous dreidel games for kids of all ages . Cantor Scott Buckner and Jason Weinberger , orchestra conductor and concert producer , will present a musical program fun for the whole family .

Chanukah is considered the Festival of Lights in the Jewish tradition . This event is geared towards celebrating the light and love that overflows during the joyous Chanukah season as we remember the victorious battle of the Maccabees and the miracle of the oil that lasted for eight days in the Second Temple in Jerusalem . Israel Congregation Education Director Rebecca Charhon states that “ In planning this event we strive to make it special for those who have celebrated for years , those who are celebrating for the first time , or those interested in learning more about the holiday . Whether someone wants to be part of the beautiful candle lighting ceremony , listen to some amazing music , eat some classical holiday foods like latkes ( potato pancakes ) and sufganiyot ( donuts ), we would love to see you there .”

Free Community Dinner – All Are Welcome !

Join us for fun , food , and fellowship on December 8 at 5pm at the Eagles Club located at 1610 Depot St . on Rt 11 / 30 in Manchester , VT ( the former Garlic John ’ s ). This meal is a community project of Zion Episcopal Church and the purpose of the meal is to bring people together and to help us meet and get to know our neighbors .
