Owings Mills East on Track
A Year of Extraordinary Giving to SU
Owings Mills East is on track for a fall 2022 opening . This new , state-of-the-art facility will have facilities for field hockey , soccer , lacrosse , baseball , softball , cross country , and track and field . This past spring and summer , the new field hockey turf , Beynon rubber track , lighting , grass fields , and landscaping were installed .
Stevenson students will have the opportunity to train and compete in one of the top facilities in the country , regardless of division . This complex will serve not only Stevenson ' s NCAA student-athletes — allowing us to host large-scale meets and become a regional hub for track and field competitions — but also club sport athletes and student recreation .
The first half of 2022 was an extraordinary time of giving in support of Stevenson — from another record-setting annual Day of Giving to SU and ongoing support for the development of Owings Mills East and the new Zaffere Library to a $ 1.3 million bequest from the estate of the late faculty member Gilbert “ Gil ” Wegad and a $ 350,000 gift from The Kahlert Foundation will fund the creation of a new makerspace in the Kevin J . Manning Academic Center .
