Celebrating a Year of Transformative Gifts
SU Programs Receive Top Accreditations
Stevenson marked 2022-2023 as another year of momentous gifts . Alumna Orsia Young ’ 79 and her husband Jay Young made a $ 1 million gift to fund the new Success at Stevenson Scholarship program . The university received two $ 100,000 gifts — one from the estate of the late Rose Dawson and the other from former Trustee and Board Chair Kevin Byrnes . And , Stevenson announced the creation of the Rollins-Luetkemeyer Scholars program for students from middle-income families . The Rollins-Luetkemeyer Foundation pledged $ 250,000 in matching funds to support Stevenson ’ s fundraising for the scholarship program .
Reflecting Stevenson ’ s commitment to providing high-quality education , the Nursing and Legal Studies programs were recently reaccredited for the maximum possible terms .
The Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies — both the on-campus and online bachelor ’ s programs — was reapproved by the American Bar Association ( ABA ) for the maximum term of seven years .
“ Stevenson University ’ s Legal Studies program is a national leader in paralegal education and a popular pre-law option for students interested in attending law school and becoming attorneys ,” said Hillary Michaud , Esq ., CPA , Professor and Chair of Law and Justice Studies .
Stevenson ’ s baccalaureate and graduate nursing programs were reaccredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education ( CCNE ) for 10 years .
“ This re-accreditation truly represents the efforts and commitment of our nursing faculty , staff , and administrators to ensure high quality teaching , mentoring , and outcomes for our bachelor ’ s and master ’ s level nursing students ,” said Susan T . Gorman , Ph . D ., Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs and Provost .
