CF Industries, JERA, and Mitsui have broken ground on the Blue Point One low-carbon ammonia plant in Modeste, Louisiana, targeting |
production of 1.4 million metric tons per year. The plant is being developed by a joint venture in which CF Industries |
holds a 40 % stake, JERA 35 %, and Mitsui 25 %. Total investment by the joint venture members is USD 3.7 billion. CF Industries is contributing an additional USD 550 million over four years in shared, scalable infrastructure. Linde will invest more than USD 400 million in a new on-site airseparation unit to supply oxygen and nitrogen to the plant. A joint venture between 1PointFive, a subsidiary of Occidental, and Enbridge will transport and permanently |
sequester carbon dioxide generated during production. The plant is expected to capture and permanently sequester 98 % of its CO2 output, which the company said would give it the lowest environmental footprint of any large-scale ammonia production facility in the world. Blue Point One is expected to become one of the first ammonia plants to use autothermal reforming( ATR) production technology and is targeted to begin production in 2029. |
EBRO Armaturen has expanded its EP3 electropneumatic positioner range with an ATEX-certified version and a new corrosion-resistant CS5M variant. The EP3 is designed for single-acting and double-acting pneumatic EBRO actuators and supports on / off and modulating control applications on industrial valves. Standard features include automatic calibration, precise setpoint positioning, and integrated diagnostic and monitoring functions for continuous assessment of operating conditions. The new ATEX-certified version extends the EP3’ s application range to hazardous areas classified as Zones 2 and 22, covering Equipment Categories 3G and 3D. The certification ensures compliance with the relevant standards |
and regulations for explosionprotection environments while maintaining the full functionality of the standard EP3. The CS5M version has been developed for applications in close proximity to seawater and other highly corrosive environments. |
HEROSE has introduced the Type 01C07, a high-pressure globe valve engineered for gaseous hydrogen( GH2) transport systems and rated to operating pressures of up to 500 bar. The valve has been developed specifically for transportable pressure vessels, multiple element gas containers( MEGCs), and tube trailers. It complies with EN ISO 10297, covering the Transportable Pressure Equipment Directive( TPED) and Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulation( TPER), and is approved for hydrogen, helium, and nitrogen service. Available with either flange or cone connections, the Type 01C07 can be integrated into a wide range of transport system |
designs. Hydrogen-compatible materials and sealing elements tested for resistance to explosive decompression underpin its tightness performance. The valve has been leak-tested with hydrogen across its entire operating temperature range. |
