Metso has signed an approximately EUR 25 million agreement to supply key minerals processing equipment for the Yenipazar polymetallic mining project in Türkiye. The project is a greenfield polymetallic mining development located in Yozgat province. The deposit contains copper, lead, zinc, gold, and silver, and the source describes it as one of the country’ s most significant polymetallic resources. SMC has expanded its EX600 safety communication fieldbus system with new communication and valve-manifold control capabilities for pneumatic automation applications. The updated EX600 Series adds support for PROFINET / PRO- FIsafe and EtherCAT / FSoE, as well as valve-manifold zone control and analog I / O. The system integrates safety and general-purpose I / O modules into a single manifold, helping reduce wiring and simplify equipment layout. For valve automation applications, the system enables multiple zones within a pneumatic valve manifold to be controlled independently. |
The number of zones and solenoids can be configured according to the application. Safety outputs can be used to cut power to valves and external devices following a command from a safety PLC, bringing the equipment to a defined safe state. The safety output uses redundant switching on both the 24 V and 0 V sides and continuously monitors for abnormalities. |
