Oxford Flow IM-S installations successful
Oxford Flow has received positive feedback following more successful installations of the IM-S gas regulators . The latest installation in the US has been on the Texas Gulf Coast supported by its Houston main office . The patented piston regulator provides greater reliability and stability than the flexible element types commonly used . Operators know that the ‘ boot ’ or ‘ diaphragm ’ flexible element is the primary failure point . During operation , the boot must deform repetitively to regulate pressures .
The flexible element is susceptible to wear and naturally prone to sudden unexpected failure . Operators must frequently replace the costly boot , which is even more expensive for applications needing high-end materials . More importantly , failure will cause interruptions in gas flow . Oxford Flow installed two regulators in a ‘ worker monitor system ’, ( or ‘ active monitor system ’) configuration in the same face-to-face length of a single ‘ weir flow path ’ flexible element regulator . This setup provides an extra level of supply security as one valve can be made redundant and left open and is common practice for natural gas systems that experience harsh environments both internally and externally . The client was surprised by how quick and easy the final commissioning of the IM-S was , particularly when dialling in the setpoint pressure which the IM-S immediately found during commissioning .

The future is now with our technologies for tomorrow .

Fives ’ contract for Pillard NOVAFLAM
Fives has signed a contract for the delivery of a Pillard NOVAFLAM ® evolution for a new production line in a French cement plant looking to decrease energy consumption and increase ASF use for the decarbonisation of their operation . The goal of this cement player is to produce clinker ( the main component of cement ) using the lowest amount of energy and having that energy produced mainly by alternative fuels ( ASF ) which have a neutral carbon footprint . ASF is made out of components such as biomass , solid waste , used oil , and a liquid solvent . Fives ’ burner , the Pillard NOVAFLAM ® evolution meets the specific requirements for this project and will be delivered with its accessories ( valve trains , pumping systems ) as well as precalciner burners for the production of clinker .

Launch of the Fenix offshore gas
TotalEnergies has approved the final investment decision for the Fenix gas development , located 60 km off the coast of Tierra del Fuego in southern Argentina . Through its Total Austral affiliate , TotalEnergies operates the project with a 37.5 % interest , in partnership with WintershallDea ( 37.5 %) and Pan American Sur ( 25 %). The Fenix field will be developed through three horizontal wells , drilled from a new unmanned platform in 70 meters of water depth . The gas will be transported through a 35km pipeline to the TotalEnergies-operated Véga Pleyade platform and treated onshore at the Rio Cullen and Cañadon Alfa plants . At production start-up , expected in early 2025 , Fenix will produce10 million cubic meters per day of natural gas ( 70,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day ).
