Brazilian Porto Colombia hydropower plant
Voith Hydro and Furnas will modernise the Porto Colombia hydropower plant located on the Grande River on the border between the states of São Paulo and Minas Gerais . The plant went into operation in 1973 with an installed capacity of 320 MW . The project marks Furnas ’ first large-scale contract after privatisation . The scope of work includes extensive refurbishment , the replacement of mechanical and electrical auxiliary systems and digitisation of measurement , protection , and control systems . Voith Hydro has experience in modernising hydropower plants in Brazil . Earlier this year Voith Hydro signed an agreement with a subsidiary of Eletrobras to modernise the Paulo Afonso II hydropower plant . In 2021 , it started the modernisation work for Paulo Afonso IV in the same hydroelectric power complex – the fourth largest plant in terms of installed capacity in Brazil which has been in operation since 1979 .
Deutsche ReGas begins FSRU terminal
Touchstone announces Coho gas production
Deutsche ReGas has officially started the construction of its FSRU-based LNG terminal in the German port of Lubmin , announced Ingo Wagner and Stephan Knabe on the first private German FSRU-based facility . “ This is an important milestone for our project , on which our international team of experienced LNG professionals has been working
at full speed for months ,” Knabe said in the statement . The construction works are upgrading the industrial port which has so far only been used by smaller ships , and creating a jetty , the company said . Deutsche ReGas confirmed it expects the Lubmin facility or Deutsche Ostsee to start delivering about 4.5 billion cubic meters per year from December 1 .
Touchstone Exploration has announced that the Coho facility has safely delivered its first natural gas , representing the first onshore natural gas project to come onstream in Trinidad and Tobago in over twenty years . The Coho area is located in the Ortoire block , where Touchstone has an 80 % operating working interest and Heritage Petroleum Company
Limited holds the remaining 20 % working interest . Touchstone will continue to monitor the Coho-1 well to optimise production . In conjunction with initial production , it has sold the 2.7-km , 6-inch gathering line tying in the Coho facility to the Baraka natural gas facility to The National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited ( NGC ).
Qatargas delivers to new terminal
Qatargas , an LNG production unit of state-owned QatarEnergy , has delivered a commissioning LNG cargo to China ’ s newest LNG terminal , the Jiangsu-Binhai LNG terminal , owned and operated by China National Offshore Oil Corporation ( CNOOC ). The cargo was loaded in Ras Laffan on 10 September on the 216,000 cubic metre Q-Flex LNG vessel Al Ghashamiya and arrived at the Jiangsu-Binhai LNG
terminal on 26 September , according to Qatar ’ s local media
reports . Located on the east coast of China , the terminal
currently features four LNG storage tanks , each with a capacity of 220,000 cubic metres . Further expansion is underway , which includes adding six new large LNG tanks with a storage capacity of 270,000 cubic metres each . Once complete , the terminal will have the capacity to annually receive six million tonnes of LNG . In addition , the project will also feature facilities for hydrogen production with gas .
