Vitesco Technologies partners with Sanden Europe
Equinor selects Aker for Mongstad refinery project
Vitesco Technologies has partnered with Sanden International ( Europe ) to develop an Integrated Thermal Management System for Battery Electric Vehicles ( BEVs ). The concept was showcased at the 45th International Vienna Motor Symposium . Sanden is developing the compact refrigerant unit with propane ( R290 ), while Vitesco Technologies is developing the heat energy distribution system using a coolant distribution unit with water / glycol .
The coolant unit consists of coolant pumps , Coolant Flow Control Valves ( CFCV ), and sensors . The integrated thermal management system offers advantages such as flexible adaptation , reduced complexity , reduced effort in manufacturing , system cost reduction , and conformity to regulations . The new technology is also expected to increase driving range in cold conditions , enable fast charging and provide thermal comfort inside the cabin .
Aker Solutions has been awarded an EPCIC contract by Equinor for the Mongstad refinery project , located 70 km north of Bergen , Norway . The refinery is closely integrated with an oil terminal connected to multiple North Sea oilfields and interfaces with crude tankers docked at the port . It also has wastewater treatment plant ( WWTP ) facilities designed to treat water from the refinery , offsite sources and the oil terminal .
VSI-PetrolValves supplies control valves for Italy ’ s first CO2 battery plant
Equinor aims to significantly reduce emissions from the Mongstad refinery , aligning with Aker Solutions ’ goal of enabling customers to increase efficiency and minimize emissions in their operations while ensuring safe and responsible production . Aker Solutions will be responsible for project management , engineering , procurement , construction , installation and commissioning work under the EPCIC contract .
VSI-PetrolValves supplied control valves for the first CO2 battery plant in Italy , which uses an innovative , efficient , and costeffective thermodynamic process that utilizes CO2 in a closed loop to store electricity . With over 40 years of experience in CO2 compression , PetrolValves designed specific valves for the
CO2 Battery plant to ensure reliable and precise control and efficient plant operations . The main features of the CO2 Battery include no degradation of capacity or performance over 30 + years , highly competitive CAPEX and OPEX , and Round Trip Efficiency ( 75 %+) AC-AC and MV- MV .
