FloWorks acquires Slater Controls Combet Valves achieves SIL3 Certification
FloWorks International, a speciality distributor of critical flow control products and a portfolio company of Wynnchurch Capital, has announced the acquisition of Slater Controls. The transaction marks the sixth acquisition completed by FloWorks under Wynnchurch’ s
ownership – a major milestone that highlights FloWorks’ continued execution of its disciplined M & A strategy. Slater Controls is a distributor of valve automation, instrumentation, and relief valves with four locations in Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona.
Combet
Valves
recently
announced that its Combet ball
valves have officially achieved
SIL3 certification. This significant
milestone
underscores
the
company’ s
commitment
to
the
highest
standards
of
functional safety, reliability, and performance in critical applications. SIL( Safety Integrity Level) certification is a globally recognised standard( IEC 61508) that ensures products meet stringent safety requirements. SIL3 represents a high level of risk reduction – a benchmark for applications where failure is not an option. With this certification, Combet ball valves are now fully qualified for use in safety instrumented systems( SIS) across industries. The company wishes to express its thanks to its engineering and quality teams for their dedication and expertise throughout the certification process.
Indigenous partnerships helping to grow the industry
Inter Pipeline has a wellestablished partnership with
Alexander Valve & Supply( AVS) and Alexander First Nation. AVS is
an Alexander First Nation-owned company that Inter Pipeline has partnered with for several years on both pipeline projects and during the construction of Inter Pipeline’ s Heartland Petrochemical Complex in Fort Saskatchewan. Over the past couple of years, Inter Pipeline’ s Transportation business has procured over USD 2.25M worth of quality valves for projects at some of its Northern Alberta facilities.
Inter Pipeline’ s petrochemical business has also aligned with AVS to provide offsite warehousing for both chemical products and large critical equipment used at Inter Pipeline’ s Heartland facility. The partnership provided Inter Pipeline with a streamlined, single-source solution for storage, reduced transportation and handling costs, and furthered its commitment to working with Indigenous-owned businesses.
Ampo Poyam Valves strengthens its presence in Qatar’ s NFE
AMPO POYAM VALVES is proud to be part of the Qatar North Field East LNG Expansion Project, one of the world’ s largest liquefied natural gas( LNG) developments. AMPO has supplied more than 1,400 highly engineered valves, including manual and onoff ball valves, gate, globe, and check valves in both cryogenic and non-cryogenic designs. These valves will be installed in critical sections of the project, such as LNG loading systems, process and storage piping, and marine infrastructure( QNF
Marine Package). Their main purpose is to control LNG and other industrial fluids flow, ensuring safe and efficient operations in loading, storage, and processing systems. Among them, a set of ESDVs( Emergency Shut Down Valves), SDVs( Shut Down Valves), and BDVs( Blow Down Valves) used for safety and process control applications stands out due to their technological complexity and safety relevance. A particularly demanding part of the project involved the complete HIPPS( High Integrity Pressure Protection System). As
part of the project qualification, a comprehensive IFAT( Integrated Factory Acceptance Test) was successfully carried out at AMPO’ s facilities in
Idiazabal, with the presence
of the end user, verifying
the correct integration and
performance
of
the
entire
HIPPS system.
