Hiller , part of Trillium Flow Technologies , marks 60 years since designing its first valve actuation products . Founded in 1950 by Ralph A . Hiller in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania , USA , the company began manufacturing actuators for commercial nuclear power plants in 1966 . The Institute of Electrical Engineers ( IEEE ) successfully tested Hiller ’ s Main Steam Isolation Valve ( MSIV ) actuator in 1972 , followed by the 38- inch MSIV actuator in 1976 . |
In the 2000s , Hiller achieved qualifications for its Advanced Boiling Water Reactor ( ABWR ) and NGC and NGP product ranges . The company ’ s current portfolio includes LP / LH linear pneumatic and hydraulic actuators , NGP / NGH quarter-turn actuators and NGC gas-charged hydraulic actuators , primarily used for main steam and feedwater isolation valves .
