INNOVATIONS & SOLUTIONS
Severn Glocon launches Engineering Centre of Excellence
Severn Glocon has launched its Engineering Centre of Excellence in Halifax to enhance its valve engineering and manufacturing capabilities . The facility will serve as a hub for advanced engineering projects across energy , oil and gas , and process industries . The centre features modern design , simulation and testing capabilities to develop valve technologies meeting industry standards and customer requirements . It aims to deliver
high-performance , bespoke solutions for challenging operational environments . The facility will also support Severn Glocon ’ s training and development programmes , focusing on upskilling future engineers and strengthening expertise across the organisation . Additionally , the centre will support the development of solutions that improve operational efficiency and reduce environmental impact .
Farris Engineering launches pressure relief valve monitoring system
Farris Engineering , a Curtiss-Wright Valves Division company , has introduced the inSure Pressure Relief Valve Monitoring Device , offering real-time monitoring of pressure relief events through stem movement detection . The device , compatible with Farris 2600 series spring-loaded pressure relief valves , can be factory installed or retrofitted by
trained technicians . Using proprietary sensor technology , it detects stem movement through the valve cap without penetrating the pressure boundary . The system connects via Bluetooth to the inSure app for calibration and monitoring of valve status , pressure events , temperature and battery voltage . The monitor offers three communication protocols for Distributed Control System ( DCS ) integration : wired 4-20mA , wirelessHART and wireless ISA100 . Powered by a CSA-certified battery for hazardous locations , the device operates hourly during standard conditions and increases to once per second during valve movement . Batteries can be replaced in hazardous environments by factory-trained technicians .
REMBE introduces VENTEX explosion isolation valve
REMBE has launched the VENTEX passive explosion isolation valve , expanding its explosion protection portfolio . The valve prevents flame and pressure propagation during explosions while allowing normal airflow during standard operation . During an explosion , pressure waves force the valve ’ s poppet to shut and lock , creating a seal in the process line . The system includes signalling devices to indicate explosion events . Certified for organic dusts , metal dusts , hybrid mixtures and gases , the VENTEX valve operates in both one-way and two-way acting systems . The VENTEX valve complements REMBE ’ s existing explosion isolation range , which includes the EXKOP system and Q-Flap NX series inlet isolation device .
