ALBERTA CARBON TRUNK LINE ( ALBERTA , CANADA )
The Alberta Carbon Trunk Line ( ACTL ) system is one of the newest , largescale carbon capture , utilization , and storage systems to become operational . Multiple partners of the ACTL project have collaborated to capture and deliver industrial emissions of CO 2 to mature oil & gas reservoirs in Alberta , for use in enhanced oil recovery and permanent storage . The pipeline can transport up to 14.6 million metric tonnes of CO 2 per year . 1
THE CARBON TERRAVAULT 1 PROJECT ( CALIFORNIA , USA )
The Carbon TerraVault 1 Project located in Kern County , was proposed by the California Resources Corporation . This project is expected to have a total capacity of 46 million metric tonnes ( Mt ) of estimated storage . The Carbon TerraVault ( CTV ) project provides services that include capture , transport , and storage . CTV is currently developing a series of CCS projects that inject
CO 2 captured from industrial sources into depleted underground reservoirs and permanently store the CO 2 underground . 2
BAYOU BEND CCS ( TEXAS GULF COAST , USA )
After its recent expansion , the Bayou Bend Project spans across 140,000 acres of pore space for permanent CO 2 sequestration . This project has the capacity to store 1 billion / Mt of carbon emissions . Located in the Houston Ship Channel and Beaumont / Port Arthur region , this carbon transportation and storage solution is considered one of the largest industrial corridors in the country . 4
