Well, sorry to break it to you friends but there’s no secret to weight loss, it’s plain and simple. Energy IN vs Energy OUT. Move MORE and Eat LESS. Drink plenty of water. MOVE YOUR BODY. Eat fruits and vegetables. Watch your Sodium intake. Those are MY “secrets.”

As someone who has been CHANGING LIVES and TOUCHING SOULS through the Power of Fitness for over 20 years as a Fitness Group Exercise Instructor and 16 years this 2017 as a Certified Master Personal Trainer, I have been telling people this over and over. Fitness is my way of life and has been as long as I can remember.

To be honest, there are some days that I am almost offended when someone does NOT want to hear what I have to say because “Famisha, you’ve NEVER been overweight. You don’t know how it FEELS.” Is that so? Well, I know what it’s like to be a woman who has hit her Fit, Fly and Fabulous 40s now and realizes that missing a workout is NOT an option if I want to continue to have energy, fit into my clothes and feel genuinely happy in my own skin.

You guessed it…”well, wait until you hit 40…you’ll see!”

Well folks, I see and let me tell you something; it comes down to one word. Are you ready for it? Here you go!
DISCIPLINE.

Fitness is NOT a punishment. Fitness is NOT a fad. Fitness is a LIFESTYLE. There are so many things out there for people to enjoy to get off of the couch. Let me list a few for you: Brisk walking (NOT RUNNING) but getting up and out and going for a walk, jogging if you do enjoy running (I do NOT), Boot camps (I love instructing those!) which is a fast way to burn a lot of calories in a short amount of time, Weight/Resistance Training (build lean muscle mass) in which you will burn a lot of calories while your body is at rest, Hot Yoga (my FAVORITE) or a regular Yoga practice, Tennis (fun and competitive if you’re with a friend), Riding your bike (low resistance and fun if you’re in the outdoors), Hiking (perfect time of year to hike), Basketball (I LOVE BASKETBALL) and Group Exercise classes which can be but not limited to Zumba, Hip Hop, Cycle, Body pump and Step. Now, if I didn’t mention one of
