Wintry A thin layer of fog gathered around the mountains, enveloping this city. The entire place slipped into a haze. Cold breeze blew across in ebbs, and the trees swayed in its flow. Everything was tranquil. The leaves yellowed and many had left the tree. No more was the familiar rustling in the wind. Albeit the lightest breeze, the chills seeped deep into each soul. Single silhouettes on the street clutching onto layers of luscious coats, curling up like a snake in hibernation. Each step forced forward after another on the empty streets of a wintry day, freezing each shadow in its loneliness. by Crystal Chen, Computer Science & Cognitive Science ‘15 23
