Back-up light deployment is as follows: • Locate and remove a backup light from the stowed position on inside arm. • Turn on the back-up light while it is still clipped on with the bolt-snap. • Signal your team with an attention light signal. • Properly stow the primary. • Unclip the backup if necessary - better to leave it clipped. The team will then make a decision to continue (in open water environments only) or, in overhead environments, turn back and reorder the team to place the diver with the broken light in the middle, or the front of a two person team.
