Much thought should be given to which career path the applicant wishes to pursue in the civilian environment. Applicants can obtain help from a career coach who will help them to define this goal. What about military experience? A good military resume requires applicants to be precise and brief. They should avoid going into detail about their military experience. Applicants should keep in mind that the person reading the resume may not have the faintest idea about the military. Therefore, applicants are recommended not to use military jargon and not to include any abbreviations. However, applicants should not underestimate their accomplishments as well. They should give due respect to the positions held, but not go overboard. The use of bullet points will help applicants to sum up previous job duties.
