EDUCATION & CAREERS Converting Military Experience In To Civilian Context Applicability Is the Key to Successful Military Resume Writing by Shayane Johns There are many thousands of service personnel who wish to transit in to a civilian job. Sometimes this happens after a lifetime of being employed in the military and under such circumstances; their sole work experience is within the forces. In such circumstances, the need for converting and aligning the military work experience to civilian job environment becomes a necessity to highlight the applicant’s capabilities. The best way to write a military resume is to find the most suitable way to highlight the military experience and make the experience gained transferable to a civilian job. When the resume is written in this manner, the potential employer will be able to identify the relevance of the military skills of the soldier and find that these skills are suitable for the civilian job. For example, most people in with following directions and sure. These key elements are type of jobs as fire fighters or the military are good working under presprerequisites in some disaster management personnel. Therefore, including this information on their resume will benefit the applicants. What is the job objective? A good resume requires specific details. Many people make the mistake of being too general in their job objective and as a result will not be selected.
