For My magazine, I wanted to get insight on the locals viewpoint on how I was trying to better our community. I went to the community to ask them a few questions so I could understand what they have tried to do and what I could not do so I would not fail, learn from their mistakes. Here is our interview.
Q: Do you think that the events, aside from First Friday, here in the Roosevelt Row area?
A: “Yes, everyone knows about First and Third Friday. The events that we do to get people to come are publicized by social media and word of mouth.”
A: “ To an extent, enough people come down on First and Third Friday, but not over a week.”
Q: Do you think that the events here could be more successful? And do you have any ideas that you think might work to get people to come to the Roosevelt Row area more often?
A: “I think that if we collaborated with other businesses would help publicize.”
A: more events in the downtown area would help bring in more people and help publicise us to other communities.”
Q: What events have and haven’t worked for you?
A: “Timing is everything depends on weather and inventory”
A: “The content brings in people, they sell local artwork from over 130 artist, and what doesn’t work is that there is little publicity”
Q: What have you done to communicate that has not worked?
A: “ Start to advertise the events a lot earlier than later. And more time planning.”
A: “I can’t answer that”
Q: How have you tried to communicate with the community?
A: “We frequently send out press releases, new, for Roosevelt Row to help raise awareness. Social media like Facebook and word of mouth.”
A: “Yeah, social media brings in people to promote local artists too and for our community.”
