My Perspective

My problem statement comes for my personal experiences which is why this leads me to believe that that this would work. With my new and more concise problem statement I saw that finding a good solution for this problem would be a lot more effective and less consuming of effort, money, resources, and time. And my problem statement, again, is there aren't many events happening in the Roosevelt Row area, but if there are events they are not publicized well.

So within my problem statement there is a solution hidden in it. My solution is to host events, and teach the people in the Roosevelt row area how to communicate successfully to get the message across. With that, I feel like it would make a huge impact on how many people start to come downtown. This is because if we fix the how the locals communicate or advertise their events better then people would be informed of the events that happen. But this would not work without the other part of the solution that to also host more events. This leads me to my next point.

Now if you want people to start coming downtown Phoenix more often, then you have to give them a reason to come down. That is why some many people come to first Friday. People need a reason to come if you add more events lets say a soccer day where people can buy a ticket to watch a soccer game and that would attract the soccer fans. And the people that work near here could pass on the information to people that would come to join in. But again for those people to get the information you have to learn to communicate successfully.

But now you have a whole different argument in who will host what events, or if it will be a whole community event as, for example, first Friday. The locals here in downtown phoenix have to teach how to target specific “clientele." The slap chop guy, the vendor on tv used to target people who cooked and wanted to make chopping ingredients much similar, and he did just that.

But why do I have a reason to believe that this would work. Its by observing other people that are doing just this. When I went to the Swap meet I saw the vendor trying to sell a salsa maker and he had a full audience. And it was not because of the product (I do not think that that many people would be waiting to buy a salsa maker). But the guy was so interesting that he sold one to my own mom! And she does not even use it, in the cabinets. The point I am trying to make her is if people were as convincing as that man with advertising then we would have people lining up for each event.
