Our Writers
Rasheeda Cornish
Growing up 28 years in the city of Baltimore, I was exposed to a lot
more than I probably should have been as most of my peers were.
That's where I found my inspiration through the things I've seen and
the things I've heard. I found my deepest connection in words,
English over mathematics, History and Science any day. So much
hidden truth in our culture. I was blessed to stumble into and fall in
love with myself, utilize myself, and make myself more available for
my own good. I've learned lately to leap & trust the landing in
advance!
I nd my heart beat most passionate when healing vibes and good
energies are exchanged. I found my true love that way. Reading
and conversation alone is bliss, a lost art. I've always wanted to be
a writer but working full time and managing a busy life full of ups
and downs often hinders such a thing. "Adulting" is hard. But I'm so
fortunate to have made it through so many storms. I've always had
a tendency to be reserved in the social realm. Safe distance so to
speak. I express myself through paper and pen, sometimes even crayons. Whatever it took to
release my truths. I Didn't talk much til I found and connected with myself recently. It's so crucial to
stay grounded and not to lose you, know that nding yourself takes time indeed!
Over the last 11yrs, I've led a blessed career in Early Childhood Education. My career has been
trying at times but God works in mysterious ways to bless us through experience. People have said
I'm a nurturer by nature, Guess I needed to break in order to reach this level in pursuit of abundant
life as that nurturer.
I've learned that motivation needs to start within. Start with yourself and at home. Be open to try
new things. Walk by faith and don't limit yourselves. Stop the self doubts before they start. Always
remember, “No weapon formed shall prosper!” It's been a beautiful chaotic journey I wouldn't
trade. Together we can conquer so much. Urban Freedom is bridging gaps brick by brick.
