Since we last reported on our activity , the
Graduate Diploma in Social Impact ( GDSI ) has been embedded into the CSI suite of offerings . This 48-unit-of-credit program expands on the Graduate Certificate and focuses on building the professional capacity of private , public , and social sector managers and entrepreneurs who are working to create social and environmental value within their organisations . Students are equipped to lead their organisation ’ s social impact efforts in a dynamic cross-sector social landscape where the focus is on social innovation .
This program was borne out of a recognition that there is a blurring of the boundaries between government , business and the third sector in delivering social and environmental value in communities . These factors present the opportunity – and help drive – social innovation . Key changes have occurred within each of the sectors : the changing role of government from direct provider to enabler ; the emergence of corporate responsibility within the business sector ; the emergence of social enterprises and socially responsible businesses within the third sector . Graduates of the GDSI are equipped to navigate and lead in this landscape , to achieve lasting and meaningful social impact .
