Who is Jesus?
First of all, Jesus is a real person. He is not a figment of someone’s imagination. Records of Jesus’ existence can be found in ancient Jewish histories as well as Roman historical documents. Jesus is the son of a carpenter. He was a Jewish teacher. And most importantly he is the Son of God. How do we know this? Jesus’ identity was shown to be the Son of God when he was raised from the dead.
“And he was shown to be the Son of God when he was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit. He is Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 1:4
Not at all. Jesus existed before time itself. Hard to imagine, right? But since he is God, it is possible. A supernatural God is not limited by the natural world. So, in the beginning when God created the heavens and earth Jesus already existed. In fact, you are made in the image of God and Jesus.
“So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” Genesis 1:27
Does this mean that Jesus was just some guy like the rest of us?
