can take as long as 12 minutes to machine. From here the dart moves on to quality control where weight, length, width and grooves are all checked to high degrees of accuracy, before the laser engraving of the relevant logos and the addition of a point complete the process. Of course there are other processes involved in coating darts and in the machining of certain complex barrels, but every company must maintain their competitive edge and Target are no exception, keeping these processes a closely guarded secret. The New Darts Range The new range includes some fantastic new developments in technology along with some great additions to Target’s already extensive range of pro player darts and I have to say after throwing nearly every new dart on offer I am thoroughly impressed. feel they are a joy to throw and perfectly balanced. In fact well balanced darts are a feature of the new range, with players such as Keith Deller switching to centre balanced darts. There are also a stunning set of new Dave Chisnall darts featuring the pixel grip that has become synonymous with Phil Taylor since his switch to Target in February, along with new 21g Stephen Bunting darts and a new design of Adrian Lewis dart with a more bullnose front, all of which are a delight to throw and extremely well balanced. In terms of accessories there are new colours in Pro Grip and Vision stems along with an extensive range of Vision flights to complement the stems and the new Daytona Wallet, whose magnetic flap allows it to accommodate any length of dart and is a prime example of Target’s commitment to offering the complete package. Of course the range all comes with it’s soft tip equivalent, and thanks to the Dartslive machine that was there one the day we can assure you that these too are all excellent darts. The new Carrera Azzurri Cortex are perhaps the most eye catching of the range thanks to their stunning blue Titanium Nitride coating and innovative if slightly unusual grip design, the grooves have been cut axially rather than radially to deliver a unique barrel grip design. By having the grip facing the direction of throw, there is improved synergy between finger and barrel giving improved grip release. I must admit it took me a few throws to get used to the feel of these darts, but a bit of perseverance pays off because once you adjust to the different So When Can I Get My Hands On It Unless you are one of the lucky few invited to the launch day, or your name is Phil Taylor, Adrian Lewis, Dave Chisnall or Stephen Bunting, you will have to wait until 1st September to get your hands on the new Target gear, although many online stores have made it available for pre-order.
