Target Product Launch 2014 Target Darts have fast developed a reputation as one of the World’s leading darts manufacturers and, if like us, you were lucky enough to attend the launch event for their latest product range earlier this month it is easy to see why. The Day Itself Along with other selected members of the darts media, retailers, staff and members of the Stockport Darts Academy, who are sponsored by Target, we were treated to a presentation of the new products, given opportunity to try them and also to talk to the men who will throw them in a professional capacity. There then followed a pro-am darts tournament, with Phil Taylor, Stephen Bunting, Dave Chisnall, Colin Lloyd and more teaming up with members of the audience to play legs of 701 for a chance to win products from the new range. It was eventually Stephen Bunting who emerged victorious, claiming a set of his darts for everyone sat at his table, before showing off by hitting a 170 checkout at the first time of asking as the players filmed pieces to camera for Target Darts TV on YouTube. in a relatively informal setting and I have to say they all seemed delighted with their new equipment. Of course Phil Taylor was still flying high after claiming victory in the World Matchplay only a week earlier and he couldn’t emphasise enough the role played by the team at Target in getting his darts right for the job. He even referred to them as ‘geniuses’ at one point during an interview for Target Darts TV! Stephen Bunting too is another recent addition to the Target stable and like Taylor he has been impressed with the way things work at Target. “I’ve been down here a few times now,” he said. “The Target guys always have time for me and the whole setup here is really professional.” A Factory Tour Of course like many companies Target have now moved their manufacturing facility to China, where they employ 27 full-time staff to manufactu
