The second half of a busy weekend’s action in Hull on
13th July saw the England Masters event take place.
The event, which is run by the England Darts
Organisation, was broadcast on Eurosport for the
first time, with the latter stages of all four events
being shown live.
In the mens final Gary Robson ran out a 7-3 winner
over Glen Durrant, although in truth this was more
about the latter’s lack of performance rather than
the formers fantastic display as Robson was able to
run out a convincing winner with only a 90 average.
In the semi-finals both men had come past tough
Dutch challengers, with Robson defeating Jan Dekker
and Durrant overcoming Wesley Harms.
Meanwhile in the ladies event Anastasia Dobromyslova
overcame Deta Hedman 4-3 in a thrilling final that
in truth could not have been more evenly matched.
Callan Rydz and Casey Gallagher claimed the boys
and girls events respectively, whilst there was also
success for Robbie Green and Alan Norris as well as
Trina Gulliver and Lisa Ashton who secured victory in
the respective pairs events.
