High Standards of Governance and Integrity
Following confirmation of compliance with the Sport England and UK Sport
code for sports governance in 2017, work has continued to ensure we
remain compliant with the code.
The code ensures that gold standards
of governance are achieved and sets
out the highest levels of transparency,
accountability and financial integrity.
UK Coaching’s Board of Directors
is made up of an appointed
non-executive Chair, followed by
seven volunteers with a range
of skills and experience. The
Board has statutory and fiduciary
responsibilities under charity law and
the Companies Act 2006. It is also
responsible for developing
organisational strategy and
challenging the Executive team,
who have the responsibility of
day-to-day delivery.
The appointment of our independent
non-executive directors is via a
formal, rigorous, open and transparent
and publicly advertised recruitment
process, attracting the widest range of
suitable candidates.
The Board of Directors meet quarterly.
Each Board member takes on
additional duties per their skill sets,
which are detailed on a Skills Matrix.
There are four Sub-Committees
of the Board: Finance, Audit and
Risk (FAR); Governance (GovCo);
HR & Remuneration (HR&RemCo);
and Nominations (NomCo). These
committees operate at the behest of
the Board. Chairs of each Committee
report to the Board and provide an
update at each Board meeting.
