Applied Coaching Research Conference 2018
UK Coaching’s annual research
conference took place on the 19
February at Derby County Football
Club, where approximately 150
coaching practitioners, developers
and researchers ‘Shaped the
Future of Coaching’ by exploring
contemporary learning solutions,
innovative coaching practice and
coach well-being. There was a
keynote from Football Association
of Wales’ Head of Performance,
Tony Strudwick, and an address by
our Patron, HRH The Princess Royal,
Princess Anne.
Highlights from the conference
and some of the key research
studies presented on the day were
subsequently published in a special
edition of our peer-reviewed
Applied Coaching Research Journal
– freely available on our website –
so that the whole coaching family
could benefit from the transfer of
knowledge.
Research is essential to inform the
ongoing development of coaching
policy and practice. By bringing
researchers and practitioners
together to learn, share and
collaborate, we hope to bridge the
gap between research and practice.
“
I will bring a lot
more coaches with
me next year. I
felt this was an
invaluable event
and I cannot wait to
attend the next one
to follow up with
all my networking
links.”
