Buildings D IL D I BU EE FO UR L GO N GS The University of Georgia’s architectural heritage includes over 19 recently restored historic buildings as well as numerous state-of-the-art facilities designed to conserve resources and create the optimal environment for teaching and research. UGA’s updated Design and Construction Standards ensure that new and renovated campus buildings reduce waste during construction and through ongoing operations, identify strategies for consuming 20% less energy and 40% less water than comparable facilities, evaluate on-site renewable energy opportunities to meet 10% of the building’s energy demand, and reduce runoff to improve water quality.
