UGA’s green cleaning program improves indoor air quality in buildings substituting hazardous chemicals with safer,
environmentally-friendly cleaning products; reduces employee workplace accidents; and standardizes employee work
practices to ensure healthy facilities. UGA was the first institution to receive Cleaning Industry Management Standards
(CIMS) Green Building Certification with Honors for this innovative and holistic program which currently includes all
“resident instruction” buildings on the UGA Athens Campus.
