July 2018 September 2018 KUYSEN NIGHT 2018 The UAP Makati CBD Chapter Holds Its September GMM At The Kuysen-Hansgrohe Flagship Showroom FAITH & HERITAGE The UAP Makati CBD Chapter Leads The Condition Mapping Of Pasig Diocese Structures Story by: Ar. Joselito Loreto L. Bersamina Jr., UAP Story by: Ar. Joselito Loreto L. Bersamina Jr., UAP Relax and unwind. These were just some of the things that can be described of our September General Membership Meeting held on September 21, 2018 at the Kuysen & HG Flagship Showroom, located at the ground floor of Eton Residences Greenbelt, Legazpi St, Legazpi Village, Makati City. It was a fun-filled gathering where CBD architects get a chance to socialize and reconnect with colleagues in a lighter ambience while being served with a sumptuous dinner, surrounded by a sophisticated line of Kuysen products. For this, the UAP Makati CBD Chapter remains thankful to our gracious hosts for welcoming us once again to party in their venue that seemingly rivals a state-of-the-art museum that showcases what looks like metallic art pieces. Adding to the fun and laughter were some of the new breed of CBD architects joining the games prepared and hosted by Architects Alex Peña and Zaldy Imperial. It was also the last chance to settle IAPOA and Chapter dues, which made it quite busy at the registration. But as one goes inside, the evening went on full of good vibes and warm camaraderie. Signing of Memorandum of Understanding between UAP Makati CBD Chapter as represented by its current president Michael Frederick Lazo and secretary Michelle Ting and Pasig Diocesan Commission for Cultural Heritage of the Church chairman Rev. Fr. Roy Rosales washeld last August 24, 2018. This project aims to document the current physical condition of the heritage masonry structures namely Immaculate Conception Cathedral (Pasig), San Miguel Chapel (Pasig), Caniogan Chapel (Pasig), Bambang Chapel (Pasig), Sagad Chapel (Pasig), San Roque Parish Church (Pateros) and Archdiocesan Shrine of Saint Anne (Taguig). Initial stage of the project will be ocular visits followed by thorough visual inspection and photo-documentation using street level and aerial photography and final output will be a book/manual. This will be the first collaborative heritage project in the Philippines between a catholic diocese and a UAP chapter, latter being the initiator, that will promote detailed condition assessment without involvement of scientific analyses as a prerequisite to actual restoration process of built heritage. It will also provide a logical basis for future studies of deterioration progress for a specific group of old buildings within a locality bounded in exact timeframe. This project is also supported by Abang Lingkod ni Maria, a non- government organization of old time Pasigueños that advocates preservation of ecclesiastical heritage and has numerous projects in Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Brgy. Malinao, Pasig City. The project jumpstarted with nitial photo-documentation and ocular of 3 churches under Pasig Diocese: Immaculate Conception Cathedral (Pasig), San Roque Church (Pateros) and Archdiocesan Shrine of St. Anne (Taguig) which was held last Septermber 8, 2018
