Introduction about Makati CBD chapter and the socio- cultural educational, environmental protection, disaster risk management concerns was followed by giving of an initial draft of the revised IRR of BP 344 to the community and was received by its current president. The team made photo-documentation and measurement of the areas that need rehabilitation and addition such as addition of stage at the multi-purpose hall, mural painting/plantbox design at the library, retrofitting of the well shaft, improvement of entrance markers, relocation of announcement board, and integration of material recovery facility. Ar. Conrad Onglao was guest speaker for the UAP CBD Chapter last August 31, 2018 Friday, in a GMM lecture titled “Translating Design Concepts into Architectural Spaces”. The event happened at the Old Swiss Restaurant, Ground Level, Somerset Olympia, Makati Avenue corner Sto. Tomas St., Makati City. The General Membership Meeting for August was coordinated with the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) which enabled the CBD to provide 1.5 CPD points for the one-hour-and a half lecture. The audience had nothing but admiration for Ar. Onglao’s portfolio of exquisite and meticulous designs where he also even shared some valuable reminders and best practices observed by his firm. Another highlight of the General Membership Meeting was the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between the UAP CBD Chapter and the Leonard Cheshire Foundation. The agreement paves the way for the UAP CBD Chapter to audit the premises of buildings under the Leonard Cheshire Foundation which promotes a rights- based approach caring after the country’s PWDs. Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding took place at the community library with the following signatories: Michael Frederick Lazo (Makati CBD President), Sophia Avendano (Makati CBD IPP), Michelle Ting (Makati CBD secretary), Teresita Obusan (GK Pinyasan Village & Bayan Educational Endeavor, Inc. representative) and attested by Reynaldo Morada (GK Pinyasan Village President). It was witnessed by four residents of the aforementioned village. Gawad Kalinga Pinyasan Village is the model among the 8 GK Villages in Daet and the 3rd GK Village that the Makati CBD chapter assisted.
