He managed Corrour , a remote 57,000-acre Highland estate on the edge of Rannoch Moor , possessing an innovative and influential late 19th century landscape design which impacted on both 20th century ecological and garden planting , as well as foreshadowing the 20th century development of forestry in the whole of upland Britain . He sold the Corrour estate in 1995 . He married ( 1 ) 1962 Rosemary Jenkins in 1962 , marriage dissolved in 1976 , and ( 2 ) Margaret Kingerley in 1977 . He was frequently retained as an expert witness on English law in foreign proceedings particularly on questions of English marine insurance law and practice in cargo and hull insurance cases . He then moved on and went to study Canon Law at St . Paul ’ s University in Ottawa , spending many years working with the Regional Marriage Tribunal at the Archdiocese of Regina . His love of learning , books , technology , and classical music was evident throughout his life .
