He then founded two banks in Norwich and London , which prospered , multiplying the investors ’ equity sixtytwo times in 15 years . International director , Full Gospel Businessmen ’ s Fellowship 1971 ; lay reader and member of College of Evangelists : over the years he travelled to 39 countries sharing the good news of Jesus ; author of numerous Christian books including Profit : The Blessing of God or the Curse of Mammon 1989 , Seven Troubles : God ’ s Loving Purpose in Affliction 1990 and also a collection of sonnets . He was larger than life and had a profound sense of joie de vivre : he lived out his faith and was generous to all he met giving away to others all he had by the end of his life . He married Susan Annette Younger in 1974 , who survives him together with their 4 sons and a daughter .

Qualified as a solicitor at Freshfields in 1962 ; partner , Boodle Hatfield & Co , London 1967-91 ; General Counsel , British Biotechnology plc 1991- 2000 ; secretary , Win Coll 1945 War Memorial Fund . Following work on the restructuring of the Associated Boards of the Royal Schools of Music , which prevented the Queen being liable for their debts , he was given an honorary degree by the Royal College of Music and sat on the Council . He also advised Berry Bros & Rudd and , on his retirement , was given the oldest unclaimed bottle in their cellar , an 1827 bottle of Bual Madeira . A liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Weavers , a family tradition , he became Upper Bailiff in the Queen ’ s Golden Jubilee year . He was well travelled and in his last few years , after navigating the Silk Road , visited Iran , Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan . He married Anne Cameron in 1965 who died in 2017 . He is survived by their son and daughter .
Antony ( Tony ) John Mackworth Perkins ( B , 50-54 ); died 29.11.2020 . Brother of NRDP . Fencing team , Kirby Foils 1954 . Royal Agricultural College , Cirencester , farm management course . Returned home to Kenya 1958-68 , pioneering the growth of tea and coffee at altitude ; served in Kenya Regiment . Manager , Hereford Growers Ltd 1968-70 ; sales manager 1970-88 , including three years living in Egypt ; marketing consultant from 1989 . In 1991 , he and his wife settled in East Meon where they became central members of the local community . He was a bell ringer , gardener and friend to the village . He adored travel and history : as a devout Christian , he loved travelling to culturally-rich parts of the globe during the summer whilst immersing himself in village life during the winter ; a big , gentle character who embodied impeccable manners with a joy of life and exploration . He married Judith Wardle in 1958 , who died in 2003 and is survived by their daughter and 2 sons .

He was admitted as a solicitor in1960 ; partner , MacDonald Oates ( Hants ) 1964-7 ; Maples Teesdale ( London ) 1968-76 , Lawrance Messer ( London ) 1977-89 . He married ( 1 ) 1960 Ingrid Maria Ortner in 1960 ( marriage dissolved ); ( 2 ) Francoise Mallet who died in 2011 . He is survived by a daughter from the first marriage and a stepson .
Eben William Hamilton ( G , 50-55 ); died 11.02.2021 . Brother of PJSH . 4 th / 7th Royal Dragoon Guards 1955- 7 . Trinity College , Cambridge 1957-60 , 2 ( i ) Econ & Law , BA 1960 , MA . He practised at the Chancery Bar 1962- 2009 ; admitted Hong Kong Bar 1978 , where he built a significant practice ; QC 1981 ; Singapore Bar 1982 ; Cayman Bar 2001 ; Bencher , Inner Temple 1985 ; Deputy High Court Judge ( Chancery Division ) 1990-2005 ; DTI inspector , Atlantic Computers plc 1990-4 ; FRSA 1988 . Head of chambers , 1 New Square , in 1992 , joint head of merged New Square Chambers 2000 . One of the leading insolvency lawyers of his time , whose intelligence , quick wit , good looks and unhesitating generosity won him a circle of friends ranging from African , American and Asian academics , businessmen , artists and politicians to the landlord of his favourite Sussex pub and the scattered rural community around his treasured Irish retreat on the shores of Lough Ree . A leading HK silk said ‘ Eben was one of the rare breed , his acumen the best among the best and with an ability to think “ out of the box ”. Yet it was his warmth , collegiality and support for everyone that set him high above all the rest .’ His enduring sense of fun was typified by a time celebrating Holi in India with his friend Tiger Pataudi ( K , 54-59 ): while the other guests threw coloured powder on each other , only he dared pick up a huge bowl of the powder and joyfully dump it on the Nawab ’ s head .
