OW Fives News
The inaugural Hale Pot took place on Sunday 8 th December 2024 in the new Fives courts within the Winchester College Sports Centre. Eight current Wykehamists were joined by eight Old Wykehamists and eight members of the Wessex Fives Club( who play regularly on the courts). 12 pairs formed 2 groups for a round robin of matches. There were many close games( well done the organiser!) but in the end an Old Wykehamist pair( Shiloh Wu( E, 18-23) and Tim Boyes-Watson( G, 82- 87)) beat Will Akerman and Arthur J-D( D, 20-) in a tight final.

OW Football Club News
Lekan Olagunju( F, 17-19), OWFC Manager, writes:
This season has been one of revival and progress for the OWs. The 2s back and flying in Div 5. Their season is still going on and following their only 2 defeats of the season they bounced back with a resolute 1-0 win against Old Oundleians. This win means that they have now been promoted and will aim to wrap up the league title by winning their last 2 games. They have excelled at both ends of the pitch with a potent front three running opposition defences ragged. All the while,
a strong and relentless spine has meant they boast the meanest defence in the league. The 1s season is over and unfortunately, they weren’ t able to capitalise on a blazing start and narrowly missed out on promotion. A mixture of injuries and unlucky finishes saw us struggle to pick up points in the second part of the season. However, the team should feel proud of what they achieved. Last year we narrowly escaped relegation so it’ s looking like the only way is up for this team. We’ ve had several new faces come in and become integral parts of the team. We’ ll look to return to the Premier Division next season.
