John Colin Nowell-Smith( G, 55-60); died 12.5.2025. Brother of GSN-S. Golf Team, Athla Colours. Trinity College Oxford, Lit Hum BA 1964. Solicitor: articles and then a partner at Freshfields. After retiring he volunteered for the CAB, was chair of the village church and parish councils, a church warden and district councillor. He helped found the Thame Museum and was very involved with the committee and fund raising for the Bodleian Library. His great loves were his garden in Oxfordshire, his racehorses and event horses and also shooting and golf. He married Mary Hue Williams in 1966, who survives him together with their 2 daughters.
Charles Anthony Huddart Moberly( C, 58-63); died 25.8.2025. Son of FRM, 5 th generation of Wykehamists, father to son. 2nd XI Cricket 1963. Deloittes, ACA 1969, and spent two years in Zambia before returning to the UK to work in Accounting and IT for a variety of companies. In retirement, he published 5 award winning novels, all different from one another in style and genre and pushing boundaries: The Scrotum Toad 2022, The Corncrake 2022, Try the Leopard’ s Mouth 2023, Cooee Baby 2024 and Honey Down the Lane 2025. He had started writing his sixth, I’ m Scared, Major Perfect. He married Andrea Collins in 1970, who predeceased, and is survived by their 2 sons.

McClelland Moores( Chartered Accountants) 1966-76, ACA 1970, FCA. Finance Director, Metaport Commodities Ltd 1976 and Anglo- American Financial( Finance) 1979, General Partner 1986. Member London Stock Exchange and Director Datapoint Inc. He moved to Charlottesville, Virginia in 1997 and enjoyed bridge, croquet, golf, skating and all racket sports. He married Rosemary Mayor in 1984, who survives him together with their daughter.
Nicholas Charlton Dudley Craig( K, 59-64); died 18.4.2025. Son of GDC, father of EDCC. Lords 1962-4, VI 1962-3, Soccer XI 1964, Princes 1964, Public Schools Cricket XI 1964. A key member of the first OWCC Cricketer Cup victory in 1970. Solicitor with Wilkinson Maughan( now Watson Burton), Newcastleupon-Tyne( qualified 1969). Under sheriff of Northumberland for over 27 years. He retired in 2012. A great cricket enthusiast, he travelled the world following the England Test team. He also loved golf, real tennis and shooting. He had a fascination for the Far East, which started professionally: he brought in much Korean, Chinese and Japanese inward investment to the Northeast. He married Victoria Vivian in 1972,( marriage dissolved but they then remarried in 2013), who survives him together with their 3 sons.
Humphrey Stewart Walwyn( F, 61-65); died 4.9.2025. Expelled from Win Coll in his final year. He worked briefly as a teacher and as a DJ for TV in Canada; Relief Co-ordinator with International Red Cross, Biafra 1968-9. News reader, producer and overseas news stringer BBC Radio 1969-74; Popular Music Organiser, BBC 1974-84; Head of BBC Records and Tapes 1984-8. CEO Mainstream Records 1990-6, a Californian jazz record label in California which was sold to Sony Music Inc. Director of Product Development, Linguaphone Group 1996-2000, developing their online English courses. Set up the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts with Paul McCartney in 1996 which was Chairman Macca’ s Fame School, which helped young talent develop. In retirement in Dorset, he became closely involved in village affairs. Rock music was a constant theme throughout his life as well as fishing. With a rebellious nature, he was also a persistent purveyor of fun and wild parties. He married( 1) Tamara Shad, marriage dissolved, and( 2) Dendy, who survives him together with 2 sons from the first marriage.
