| S u m m e r 2 0 1 4 www.TCSportsJournal.com The General S p r i n g At the plate she has a .309 batting average with 17 hits, 13 runs and 8 RBI’s and only 2 strikeouts. Almost 30% of her hits this season have been for extra bases. But on the mound is where this General shows no mercy. In 103.1 innings of work so far this season, Strickland has an ERA of only 0.95 – the lowest of any starting pitcher on the Treasure Coast. She has fanned 104 batters, while walking less than 25% of the hitters she has faced. And for those that actually get on base against her, scoring a run is not an easy task as less than 11% of the hitters she has faced this season have actually crossed the plate safely. General Strickland is determined to be the best softball player and team mate she can be. She is a hardworking and dedicated team player who always gives the extra effort necessary for success. She has dreams and aspirations to go to a four year college after LPA, with UCF, UF, FGCU, Lynn and IRSC all on her radar screen at the moment. And as far as her life after softball, General Strickland wants to help people and give back to her community in the same what that others have done for her. “I want to pay it forward”, she says. If you have not already figured it out, Taylor Strickland is a winner – on and off the field! 41
